Quick answers to common questions
How do I calculate a weighted average grade?+
Weighted average = Σ(Grade × Weight%) / Σ(Weight%). Example: Assignments 30% weight, got 85%. Midterm 30%, got 72%. Final 40%, got 90%. Weighted average = (85×30 + 72×30 + 90×40) / 100 = (2550 + 2160 + 3600) / 100 = 83.1%.
What grade do I need on my final exam to pass?+
This calculator solves for the required final grade. Formula: Required Final = (Target Grade - (Current Weighted Sum / Remaining Weight) × Remaining Weight%) / Final Exam Weight%. If the required grade exceeds 100%, the target is mathematically impossible with current grades.
